Role Summary

We are looking for a highly accomplished Senior Graphic Designer to create and deliver exceptional work across brand, campaigns, digital experiences, motion, video, presentations, web, content, and creative communications.

This is a hands-on senior role for someone who can move confidently from concept to execution, translating complex briefs into clear, compelling visual and written stories across multiple channels.

You will combine strong design craft, technical fluency, creative writing and communications capability, commercial awareness, and sound creative judgement.

You will own projects from initial brief through final delivery and, where required, act as project lead across both new-business pitches and confirmed client work - leading project teams, coordinating contributors, setting priorities, managing scope and resources, and ensuring work is delivered to the required creative standard, on time, and within agreed budgets.

As a senior member of the creative team, you will be expected to raise the standard of the work as well as produce it: reviewing and improving output, mentoring less-experienced designers, strengthening templates and workflows, improving the clarity and consistency of visual and written communications, identifying better tools and production approaches, and staying current with evolving design, motion, digital, content, and AI-assisted creative practices.

For the right person, the role offers a clear path toward broader creative leadership within Whitewall.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead projects from brief through delivery across pitches and confirmed client work, taking responsibility for project teams, workflow, priorities, communication, decision-making, scope, resources, budgets, timelines, and creative standards.
  • Interpret client and internal briefs, identify the core communication challenge, develop strategically relevant and visually distinctive concepts, and translate creative direction into clear actions and expectations for the wider team.
  • Create high-quality graphic design across brand identities, campaigns, marketing materials, social content, digital assets, reports, proposals, and other client-facing communications.
  • Design and produce motion graphics, animation, and video content, including storyboards, style frames, editing, compositing, titles, transitions, graphics packages, and platform-ready outputs.
  • Lead the visual development of presentations and pitches, using Power Point and related tools to create clear narratives, sophisticated layouts, information graphics, and polished executive-level materials.
  • Design responsive website and digital experience layouts in Figma and web/CMS environments, collaborating with developers to ensure the final build reflects creative intent.
  • Use working knowledge of Word Press, Elementor, HTML, and CSS for content updates, light customisation, prototyping, troubleshooting, and integration of appropriate third-party tools or plugins; basic Java Script knowledge is advantageous.
  • Create scalable templates, design systems, reusable assets, motion presets, and organised file structures that improve consistency, speed, and quality.
  • Optimise assets for different channels and devices, with strong attention to accessibility, responsive behaviour, web performance, SEO, legibility, file size and format, image quality, motion behaviour, technical specifications, brand consistency, and senior-level quality control.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities, establish realistic milestones, maintain momentum through fast iterations, and flag risks, blockers, resource needs, or scope issues early.
  • Present creative concepts, written narratives, and design rationale clearly to clients and internal stakeholders; contribute confidently to meetings, workshops, and presentations; respond constructively to feedback; and protect the strength of the work while adapting intelligently to business requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with Design/Creative leadership, Experience & Digital, project management, developers, writers, producers, freelancers, and other specialists to deliver integrated creative solutions.
  • Provide practical guidance, feedback, and mentorship to junior and mid-level creatives, helping improve craft, confidence, production discipline, and consistency.
  • Explore and apply emerging creative technologies, including AI-assisted tools, where they improve ideation, production, iteration, or efficiency, while maintaining strong human judgment, originality, quality control, and appropriate client confidentiality.
  • Creative Writing & Communications
  • Develop clear, engaging, strategically relevant written content across websites, presentations, campaigns, social media, marketing materials, proposals, and other client-facing communications.
  • Write, edit, and refine copy, adapting tone of voice, messaging, and style for different audiences, brands, sectors, and channels.
  • Translate complex business, creative, and technical information into accessible, compelling narratives.
  • Develop and contribute to campaign concepts, messaging, storytelling, naming, and brand communications alongside visual creative development.
  • Shape the narrative and written content of presentations, pitches, and proposals so copy, structure, and design work together as one coherent communication.
  • Proofread and edit materials for accuracy, clarity, consistency, grammar, and a high standard of client-facing communication.
  • Contribute ideas and written content during brainstorming, campaign development, creative workshops, and collaborative concepting.
  • Oversee the organisation, updating, and consistency of graphic, multimedia, and written content, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines, creative direction, and agreed tone of voice.
  • Required Skills and Experience
  • Typically 5+ years' professional experience in multidisciplinary design, with demonstrable senior-level responsibility in an agency, studio, in-house creative team, or comparable environment.
  • A strong portfolio across graphic design, brand, campaigns, motion, video, presentation design, and digital/web experiences.
  • Advanced Adobe Creative Cloud skills, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design, After Effects, and Premiere Pro; Final Cut Pro or equivalent editing experience is also valuable.
  • Advanced Power Point and presentation design capability, including information hierarchy, slide systems, charts and diagrams, visual storytelling, master templates, and production-ready deck building.
  • Strong proficiency in Figma or a comparable collaborative design/prototyping platform, with understanding of responsive layout, components, design systems, and developer hand-off.
  • Demonstrable experience using AI-assisted creative tools and workflows across ideation, image-making, content development, motion, presentation design, research, and production, with strong judgement around originality, brand integrity, quality control, copyright, confidentiality, and appropriate client use.
  • Strong understanding of typography, composition, grid systems, colour, image-making, hierarchy, brand consistency, and user-centred visual communication.
  • Confident motion and video skills, including storyboarding, pacing, editing, animation, compositing, sound-aware timing, and export for web, social, presentations, and live environments.
  • Working knowledge of responsive web design and digital production, including CMS workflows and basic HTML/CSS; familiarity with Java Script, SEO, and web performance is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects, competing priorities, tight deadlines, rapid feedback cycles, budgets, scope, and resources without compromising creative quality or attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with confidence explaining creative thinking to clients, senior stakeholders, and non-creative audiences.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to balance creative ambition and communication with client objectives, audience needs, technical constraints, budgets, delivery realities, and brand standards.
  • Strong creative writing, copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills, with excellent grammar, structure, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of storytelling, messaging, tone of voice, and brand communications, with the ability to write creatively and strategically for different audiences and channels.
  • Experience developing written content for websites, presentations, campaigns, marketing materials, proposals, and/or social media, and turning complex information into clear, engaging copy.
  • Personal Attributes
  • A confident senior creative with strong taste, high standards, and sound judgement about when to push an idea and when to simplify it.
  • Conceptual and hands-on - equally comfortable generating the big idea and refining the final pixel, frame, slide, or interaction.
  • Self-directed, organised, and accountable, able to prioritise effectively and make sound day-to-day decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborative and low-ego, receptive to feedback, generous with knowledge, and able to strengthen the work of the wider team.
  • Calm, pragmatic, and solutions-focused when briefs evolve, deadlines tighten, or technical challenges appear.
  • Curious and digitally fluent, with an active interest in design culture, technology, motion, digital experiences, and new creative tools.

This is an excellent opportunity for a genuinely multidisciplinary senior designer who can move confidently between design, digital, motion, content, storytelling, and communications - bringing ideas to life visually and through the written word - while taking broad creative ownership and growing toward a more influential creative leadership role as Whitewall continues to develop.
