We’re excited to offer an opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join our Operational Solutions team as a Principal Consultant, leading impactful programmes across Defence and other complex sectors. This role is ideal for someone who brings strong project delivery expertise—whether gained in Defence, infrastructure, energy, transport, or technology—and wants to apply it in a dynamic, values‑driven consultancy with the flexibility to work from home and travelling for client engagements when required. To support effective collaboration and client delivery, you will ideally live within a commutable distance to Bristol.
The Role
- As a Principal Consultant, you will apply your project management expertise to lead the planning and delivery of major programmes across Defence and other complex sectors.
- You will play a pivotal role in solving client challenges, ensuring successful project outcomes, and collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams.
- Influence and support client project delivery through structured planning, monitoring, and control.
- Manage and deliver contractual requirements to agreed budgets, timelines, and performance standards.
- Work with project teams to define, interrogate, and refine scopes of work.
- Prepare, maintain, and govern project plans that support successful delivery.
- Build strong, collaborative working relationships with Whitetree partners and client stakeholders.
- Lead business development activity through client engagement, networking, strategic partnering, and bid support.
- Coach, mentor, and develop colleagues to strengthen capability across the team.
- Promote positive, effective working relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
Skills
- Demonstrated capability and experience in Multi‑Domain Operations.
- Flexible, driven mindset with confidence to embrace challenges.
- Ability to make sound and timely decisions.
- Proficient in MSProject, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
- Ideally located within a commutable distance to Bristol.
- Current right to live and work in the UK.
- Current SC clearance.
- Willingness and ability to work from home and travel for client engagements, including overnight stays away from home around the UK when required.
