We are seeking an experienced RICS‑Chartered Building Surveyor to step into a senior role leading survey activity, capital project input and asset strategy across a diverse national estate. If you have public sector or secure‑environment experience and enjoy managing people and stakeholders, this is an exceptional opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of condition surveys, defect analysis and technical reporting
  • Develop repair, maintenance, lifecycle and upgrade strategies
  • Oversee and support capital works and asset replacement planning
  • Manage and mentor a small team of Surveyors and QS/Estimators
  • Help prepare project briefs, specifications, scopes and tender documentation
  • Support procurement, tender evaluation and contractor selection
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders to deliver estate, safety and compliance objectives

Essential Requirements

  • RICS Chartered Building Surveyor - mandatory
  • Strong experience in building construction, fabric and building services
  • Excellent understanding of CDM Regulations
  • Experience leading or managing a small surveying or technical team
  • Confident stakeholder manager with the ability to influence at senior levels
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of procurement/tender processes
  • Flexibility for national travel, including overnight stays

Highly Advantageous Experience

  • Government or public sector estates
  • MoJ, MoD, defence or justice environments
  • Custodial, secure, detention or critical operational sites
  • PFI/PPP or complex FM‑led estates
