To schedule and plan the vehicle movements in line with service and maintenance requirements and communicate with key stakeholders regarding various schedules, fleet lists and disposal booking. To also provide holiday and absence cover for the Transport Planner (Forecasting) and support the Planning Team.

Working as part of the Transport Team undertaking the following duties:

  • Undertaking all scheduling of vehicle movements in line with service and maintenance requirements, liaising with relevant drivers to ensure drop off and returns are managed effectively.
  • Sending weekly customer schedules in a timely fashion, meeting set deadlines.
  • Ensuring all disposals are booked as required and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure all site and on-site projects are planned and managed, following through to ensure completion in line with required deadlines.
  • Answering telephone calls into the Transport Office, within three rings, when the Transport Operator is unavailable.
  • Reviewing and updating Bulker List on a daily basis sharing and communicating with relevant stakeholders.
  • Workforce planning on Bank Holidays and any other key dates as required, including ascertaining rostered HGV drivers and confirming pre-arranged overtime.
  • Checking and ensuring that loads are being tipped correctly.
  • Providing holiday cover for the Transport Planner (Forecasting).
  • Any other reasonable management requests as required.
  • Ensure that he/she is ready to commence work at the defined start-time and that ongoing issues are properly passed over to the oncoming administrator at the end of a shift.
  • Concur with the company dress-code at all times, including the wearing of PPE and uniform.
  • Conduct any necessary training required for the role. The jobholder should be prepared to work in different areas of the department/business as required.
  • Identify areas of inefficiency and waste, and suggest improvements to their Line Manager.
  • Ensure work is completed to a high standard, and all necessary documentation is completed. Report any concerns to the relevant line manager.
  • Maintain a respectful and constructive working relationship with colleagues and managers.

Technical Experience Required:

  • Ability to analyse requirements and schedule accordingly.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
