Farm Junior Herdsman

5 Days one week and 7 days the next week (alternate weekends)

• Milking Experience ESSENTIAL (only applicants with relevant experience will be considered)

300 Pedigree Jersey herd + followers, all year round calving.

• Milking twice a day through a rotary parlour.

• Our cows are grazed and buffer fed during the summer but are housed and TMR fed in the winter.

We are looking for a team member with milking experience and understanding of:

• Dairy hygiene, herd health, breeding/heat detection, foot care and record-keeping.

• Knowledge of TMR feeding, ability to AI and foot trim would be highly advantageous

• Preparation of milking equipment prior to start up and shut down.

• Milking cows adhering to Whiteoaks protocol.

• All round maintenance of cow health and welfare.

• Cleaning and sanitising of all parlour equipment.

• Adhering to Health and Safety procedures., Flexibility will be required to ensure all duties are completed, job and finish.

• Herdsperson: 2 years (required)
