Overview

Are you a mechanically minded engineer passionate about sustainability? Want to deliver real decarbonisation impact across the commercial built environment? We’re working with a growing green energy consultancy that helps major landlords and asset managers cut emissions and upgrade their buildings—from audits through to detailed design. They’re now looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services) to support projects at the intersection of building services and climate action.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out building surveys, energy audits & HVAC assessments
  • Develop mechanical-led MEP upgrade strategies
  • Use IESVE and AutoCAD to model and design low-carbon systems
  • Support delivery of EPCs, ESOS reports, and decarbonisation roadmaps
  • Collaborate with clients, PMs & engineers across full project lifecycle

Qualifications

  • Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or similar
  • Background in HVAC / mechanical building systems
  • Experience of undertaking MEP designs
  • Knowledge of decarbonisation, retrofit strategies, and energy performance
  • Proficient in IESVE and AutoCAD (or equivalent)
  • Comfortable working onsite and liaising with clients
  • Keen to grow in a mission-led, fast-paced environment
  • Experienced at preparing and presenting data, analysis and recommendations
  • £50,000 – £75,000 salary, based on experience
  • Hybrid working (office near Euston, London)
  • Commitment to training (EPC, ESOS, software & CPD support)
  • Meaningful work on commercial decarbonisation projects
  • Collaborative, growing team with clear progression opportunities
