This Construction Contractor, based near Maidenhead, undertakes a range of Fit Out and Refurbishment projects throughout Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire, Surrey, Berkshire, Wiltshire, and Buckinghamshire. Typically, project values range from GBP 250k up to GBP 8 million, across sectors including Commercial, Light Industrial, NHS, Pharmaceutical, and Automotive. Their internal expertise covers Mechanical, Electrical, & Communications disciplines, with other packages often subcontracted to specialists.
Due to increased demand from established and new clients, the company aims to bring all H&S Management in-house. They are seeking to recruit a Health & Safety Advisor to work on-site and from their offices near Maidenhead. With existing H&S policies in place, the successful candidate will build on these and serve as a key contact for all H&S matters across the company.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Writing and implementing Risk Assessments & Method Statements
- Developing Construction Phase Plans for Principal Contractor Projects
- Auditing active sites to monitor H&S standards
- Liaising with Main Contractors, Principal Designers, Clients, and Contracts Managers
- Attending pre-start and monthly safety meetings
- Maintaining safety schemes for procurement accreditation
- Completing Pre-Qualification Questionnaires
- Reviewing and updating company policies and procedures
- Analyzing and maintaining company training requirements
- Monitoring weekly site safety paperwork
- Conducting accident/incident investigations and statistical analysis
- Reporting to the board of Directors

In return, the successful candidate will receive a basic salary between GBP 50k–GBP 65k (DOE), a company car or allowance, business-related travel, pension, medical benefits, 25 days annual leave, ongoing training, and development opportunities.

- NEBOSH (National General Certificate), preferably NEBOSH Construction
- CSCS Card Holder
- Experience in the UK Construction Industry as a H&S professional
- UK Driving Licence
- Team Player with strong communication skills
- Experience writing RAMS
- Auditing sites for H&S standards
- Completing Pre-Qualification Questionnaires
- Reviewing and updating H&S policies and procedures
- Understanding of CDM Regulations
