This ambitious and growing Regional Construction Contractor, based near Maidenhead, are looking for a commercially minded construction professional to fulfill the Estimating function within the company Projects are typically located across Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire, Surrey, Wiltshire and Buckinghamshire and are in the Light Industrial, Commercial and Defence sectors with Project Values ranging from £250k up to £5 million The successful candidate will be engaging with specialist subcontractors, pulling together costs and reviewing submissions for Interiors, Minor Civils, Brick work and Construction packages from the external suppliers. A varied role, as a Construction Estimator your duties will include, but not be limited to the following: * Develop detailed project cost estimates, including project complexity factors, based on input data such as project objectives, scope and P&L analysis. * Identify and approach specialist external subcontractors for Package Estimates on subcontract packages * Determine estimate contingency based on project variables and risks. * Prepare detailed cost estimates based on Material Take Offs and Drawings * Identify areas of uncertainty and apply appropriate allowances. * Benchmark against historical performance, industry norms and established KPIs. * Prepare Change Order estimates and/or review bids, estimates and Change Orders prepared by specialist subcontractors. * Review package estimates prepared by specialist subcontractors to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance of scope of work * Assist Commercial Director & MD in bid analysis and contract negotiations. An important role, the successful candidate will have a Construction related qualification and must be able to demonstrate previous estimating experience gained within a Construction Contractor. The professional must be able to demonstrate an understanding of construction practices, materials and equipment, and will be a dynamic team player with an ability to work with project teams, build relationships with external contractors/suppliers and client stakeholders In return the candidate will be rewarded with great long term career prospects and the chance to work on some diverse projects. The position comes with a basic salary of £75,000 to £90,000 ( DOE) plus company car/car allowance, pension medical and 25 days holiday and profit related bonus
