This Principle Contractor delivers a range of Commercial Office and Light Industrial Construction & Fit Out Projects.
With ambitious plans to grow, they are looking to appoint a Construction Director / Head of Construction with substantial UK Construction experience.
Working closely with the MD, the role is hands-on encompassing day-to-day construction operations management whilst also helping drive the strategic direction of the business.
Managing a team of Contract & Project Managers, your duties will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Develop project delivery strategy, manage project budgets, control costs, secure resources, and ensure profitability.
- Manage all project phases, monitor progress, ensure adherence to project plans, and coordinate logistics.
- Recruit, motivate, develop, and manage construction teams, ensuring high performance.
- Oversee the logistical requirements of each project.
- Act as the primary contact & meet regularly with clients and third parties to report on progress.
- Set targets, objectives, & responsibilities for Project Delivery team.
- Regularly review timescales, project budgets, labour, risk, and project plans to ensure projects stay on track.
- Recommend and implement project delivery improvements.
- Ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled.
- Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality work within contract timescales.
- Deal with contract disputes should they arise and mitigate the impact of any issues.
- Work closely with Bid & Tender team to win work.
- Partner with the Managing Director to develop & implement a strategic business & growth plan.
The company are looking for someone who is working as a Contracts Manager/Director, Head of Construction, Construction Director or Senior Operations Manager/Director.
The individual will have worked for a Principal Contractor or Main Contractor, and they MUST have delivered Construction Projects within the UK Commercial office/ Light Industrial sectors.
The successful candidate will have outstanding Client Management skills, strong commercial acumen, and a strategic approach.
Package: Base salary £110k–£135k DOE, with executive car/car allowance, pension, private medical and a performance bonus, 25 days holiday + bank holidays.
