About the CNC Role
We are seeking an experienced Manual & CNC Cylindrical Grinder to join our skilled machining and toolroom team in Bideford. You will be responsible for producing high-precision components using both manual and CNC grinding equipment, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. Experience with Jones & Shipman grinders is preferred, and previous toolroom experience will be a strong advantage.
CNC Key Responsibilities
- Operate manual and CNC cylindrical grinding machines
- Set and run Jones & Shipman grinders to tight tolerances
- Produce precision components for a variety of applications
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Carry out in-process inspection and quality checks
- Maintain tooling, equipment, and a clean working environment
- Support continuous improvement and problem-solving activities
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in manual and CNC cylindrical grinding
- Working knowledge of Jones & Shipman machines (preferred)
- Toolroom background or experience (advantageous)
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to fine tolerances
