We are currently looking for an experienced CNC Milling Programmer / Setter / Operator to join an established, family-run engineering business in Bideford, North Devon. The Role You will be responsible for the programming, setting and operating of CNC milling machines, producing precision components to drawing and specification. This is a hands-on role where you will have the opportunity to take ownership of your work, from setting up the machine through to producing and inspecting the finished component. You will be involved in: * Programming CNC milling machines from engineering drawings * Setting and operating CNC milling machinery * Selecting appropriate tooling and machining methods * Setting work offsets, tool offsets and datums * Producing one-off, prototype and/or small-batch precision components * Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings * Carrying out first-off and in-process inspection * Working to tight tolerances and high-quality standards * Troubleshooting machining issues and making programme/tooling adjustments * Supporting improvements to machining methods and processes * Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment What We're Looking For We're looking for an experienced CNC Miller / Programmer / Setter / Operator who can work confidently with a good level of independence. Ideally, you will have: * Previous experience programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines * Strong knowledge of CNC machining principles, tooling and cutting data * The ability to read and understand engineering drawings * Experience working to tight tolerances * A good understanding of workholding, datums and offsets * A completed engineering apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience * A reliable and professional approach to your work * The ability to work independently while also being part of a close-knit team Experience with Hurco, XYZ or Siemens controls would be highly desirable, although candidates with strong experience on other CNC controls are encouraged to apply.
