Whitehall Resources are currently looking for a Unix Engineer. This role will be full time onsite in Barrow-in-Furness. This role requires the use of an FCSA umbrella company.
Role Overview: The UNIX Engineer will be responsible for managing and supporting enterprise UNIX environments, focusing on Oracle Solaris platforms and advanced virtualization technologies. This role involves system configuration, migration projects, and ensuring high availability through resilient cluster setups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain Oracle Solaris systems on T-series hardware (T5, T7, T8).
- Configure and manage LDOMs (Logical Domains) for virtualization.
- Perform system migrations and upgrades across UNIX environments.
- Design and implement resilience clusters for high availability and disaster recovery.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex UNIX issues.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Maintain compliance with security and operational standards.
