Whitehall Resources currently require an experienced Data Intelligence and Governance Specialist to work with a key client


Please note this role falls INSIDE IR35 and requires 2 days onsite weekly in Cambridge


Job Overview:


We are looking for a Data Intelligence & Governance Specialist who enjoys turning data into clear, intuitive and decision-ready insights, while ensuring data is trusted, well understood and ready for AI.


You will work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs, align on metrics and definitions, and translate business questions into effective data and AI solutions. You will create dashboards, visualisations and Databricks Genie Rooms, supported by consistent semantic models, business definitions, ontology, taxonomy and metadata.


Working across business and technical teams, you will help ensure data and AI products are useful, trusted and easy to use.


Responsibilities:



  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand needs, define requirements and align on KPIs, metrics and business definitions.

  • Create engaging dashboards, visualisations and Databricks Genie Rooms.

  • Translate business questions into intuitive data, analytics and AI experiences.

  • Develop semantic models, KPIs, metrics and business definitions.

  • Configure and continuously improve Genie Rooms for natural-language analytics.

  • Maintain ontology, taxonomy, metadata, tagging and business glossaries.

  • Validate data, calculations, visualisations and AI-generated responses.

  • Partner with Data Engineers to improve data quality, lineage and traceability.

  • Gather feedback and continuously improve solutions based on business needs and adoption.


Required Skills and Experience:



  • Experience in data analytics, business intelligence or data visualisation.

  • Experience creating dashboards and visualisations using Databricks AI/BI, Power BI, Tableau or similar tools.

  • Good working knowledge of SQL and data validation.

  • Understanding of semantic modelling, metrics and KPI design.

  • Experience or knowledge of data governance, metadata, taxonomy, ontology or lineage.

  • Solid ability to engage with business stakeholders, understand their needs and translate them into data solutions.

  • Ability to communicate data and insights clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Interest in developing expertise in AI-enabled analytics and natural-language data experiences.


Nice to Have Skills and Experience:



  • Experience preparing and governing data for Generative AI, RAG, AI agents or semantic search.

  • Experience with Databricks, AI/BI or modern Lakehouse environments.

  • Experience with enterprise data from ServiceNow, Jira or Azure DevOps.

  • Experience with data cataloguing, metadata or governance tooling.

  • Familiarity with Agile delivery and iterative development
