Inside IR35.
We are looking for an experienced IT Disaster Recovery leader with:
- IT DR experience in financial services (ideally), or in a large corporate such as a Global 500 or FTSE 100 organisation
- Proven IT / DR leadership experience (8–12+ years)
They should have:
- Owned enterprise wide DR strategy, not just documentation
- Led live DR tests and scenario based simulations (e.g. region loss, data corruption)
- Acted as the single accountable owner in a RACI driven model
Strong technical breadth, this is not a purely governance role. The right candidate should be comfortable across:
- Cloud DR (Azure / AWS multi region recovery, SaaS recovery models)
- On prem and hybrid infrastructure
- Tier 1 applications (ERP, finance systems, SaaS platforms)
- Backup, restore, failover, and failback design
Additional requirements:
- Experience leading audit remediation or assurance programmes, including producing closure ready evidence for governance and Internal Audit review.
- Ability to operate in regulated / validated environments, with a pragmatic understanding of hosted vs SaaS recovery assurance and control evidence.
- Strong programme delivery discipline (integrated planning, dependencies, RAID, milestones, escalation, and executive reporting).
- Ability to design and lead end to end recovery scenarios that validate dependencies, business impact, and practical recovery outcomes, not just technical restore activity.
- Strong matrix leadership and stakeholder coordination across Security, Infrastructure, Business Applications, Internal Audit, Financial Controls, and leadership forums.
- A practical mindset focused on embedding outputs into BAU, not just producing project documentation.
In short, the intent is to find not only a strong DR technologist, but someone who can help the programme land in an auditable, structured, and sustainable way.
