Our client is a manufacturer of paints and varnishes and is one of the world's leading producers of coating materials. Our client is looking for an experienced Regulatory Officer to join their team.
Responsibilities:
- SDS preparation and management – using bespoke excel system – for finished products and intermediates.
- CLP (GHS) & Transport Hazard Labels and Transport Labels.
- EU and UK REACH; including Calculations/volumes of substances and liaising with Only Representatives.
- Restricted substance checks and status confirmation against regulation and customer substance lists.
- Raw Material assessment – assignation of NPAUK internal codes/commodity codes/related activities.
- IMDS calculations and data entry (Automotive Substances of Concern/End of Vehicle Life Regulations).
- VOC calculations.
- Keep up to date with national and international legislation, guidelines and customer practices.
- Documentation and Reporting: Proficiency in maintaining regulatory documentation, permits, and compliance records.
- Auditing Skills: Experience conducting internal audits and preparing for external regulatory inspections.
Technical Knowledge:
- OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards.
- REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals).
- GHS (Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals).
- Environmental laws (e.g., EPA regulations).
Requirements:
- Experience in regulatory or compliance positions in industries like coatings, chemicals, or product manufacturing.
- Degree: Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry or a related field.
- Additional qualifications in regulatory affairs or compliance (e.g., certifications or diplomas) are advantageous.
