Our client is part of an international chemicals and coatings organisation and is a leading provider of specialist inks. They are at the forefront in technology when it comes to delivering colour expertise and innovative new products. They are now seeking a Chemist with experience in resin synthesis and polymer chemistry for offset and intaglio printing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimise resins and varnishes for offset and intaglio inks.
  • Formulate varnishes to meet demanding rheological, drying, resistance and press performance requirements.
  • Select and evaluate raw materials, ensuring performance, cost, and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct laboratory synthesis, ink preparation, printing trials, and performance testing.
  • Troubleshoot formulation and application issues in collaboration with R&D and production teams.

Requirements

  • BSc or higher in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or related field (MSc/PhD desirable).
  • Proven experience in resin synthesis and varnish formulation for offset and intaglio printing inks.
  • Strong knowledge of polymer chemistry, ink formulation.
  • Understanding of VOC regulations, CMR compliance, and sustainable formulation practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.

Salary up to £50,000.
