Our Client is a 100% employee owned consultancy where their Chemicals division is widely recognised in the marketplace for its Authorisation and Restriction expertise. They combine economics, regulatory insight and technical understanding to deliver robust, defensible evidence that stands up to scrutiny from regulators, scientific committees and stakeholders.
They are seeking a senior and experienced consultant with deep expertise in EU and UK chemicals regulation. This role is suited to someone who wants to operate at the centre of chemical regulatory decision making and includes REACH Authorisation, Restriction and wider regulatory strategy, including delivery of Analysis of Alternatives and Socio Economic Analysis that informs regulatory outcomes across the UK and EU.
You will contribute to the delivery of technically complex consultancy projects for industry clients while also supporting the development of new work through proposal preparation, client engagement and commercial and technical input to bids.
Responsibilities:
- Lead or contribute to projects supporting REACH Authorisation and Restriction processes
- Deliver high quality Analysis of Alternatives and Socio Economic Analysis
- Assess technical and economic feasibility of alternative substances and technologies
- Support the development of regulatory strategies and market access advice for industry clients
- Analyse complex qualitative and quantitative datasets
- Present findings confidently to clients and stakeholders
- Manage significant technical workstreams within consultancy projects
- Drive and contribute to proposal development and business development activities
- Engage with industry clients, trade associations and stakeholders on regulatory strategy
- Support mentoring and development of colleagues within the team
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and development of regulatory capability within the Chemicals practice
- Bring commercial awareness to proposals and projects
Candidate Profile:
- Strong understanding of EU and UK REACH regulatory frameworks
- Experience supporting Authorisation or Restriction related work
- Experience working with industry clients, trade associations or regulatory stakeholders
- Experience in consultancy environments delivering regulatory analysis and advisory work
