Events Supervisor – Seasonal Halloween & Christmas

Whitehall Garden Centre is a family-run, award-winning business offering a wide range of shopping, dining and seasonal experiences for our customers.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and confident Events Supervisor to join our team for our exciting Halloween and Christmas events.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous supervisory, events, hospitality, retail or customer service experience who enjoys leading a team and creating memorable experiences for customers.

4th, 7th & 8th November 202628th November – 24th December 2026The Role

As Events Supervisor, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of our Halloween and Christmas events. You will be responsible for supervising the Events Assistants, ensuring activities run smoothly and maintaining excellent customer service and presentation standards throughout the day.

You will be a key point of contact for the Events Team and will work closely with the Garden Centre Management team.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise, support and motivate the Events Assistant teamCoordinate the team on a daily basis and allocate duties effectivelyEnsure the smooth running of Halloween and Christmas events and activitiesBrief the Events Team before shifts and ensure everyone understands their responsibilitiesEnsure event areas are fully prepared, clean, safe and ready for customersMonitor customer flow, queues and waiting areas during busy periodsDeal confidently and professionally with customer queries, feedback and complaintsEscalate any significant issues to the appropriate managerEnsure event schedules and activities run to timeSupport ticket checking, bookings and customer entry processes where requiredAssist with children's activities and family experiencesSupervise seasonal character and costume roles, including elf charactersEnsure costumes and event equipment are used appropriately and looked afterLiaise with Santa and other seasonal performers where requiredEnsure the Events Team maintains a high standard of customer service and professionalismMonitor Health & Safety within event areas and report any concerns immediatelyComplete opening and closing checks as requiredAssist with setting up and taking down event areas, decorations and equipmentWork closely with other Garden Centre departments to ensure events operate successfullyProvide feedback to management regarding staffing, customer feedback and event performanceLead by example and be willing to get involved wherever neededUndertake any other reasonable duties required to support the successful running of the events

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

An experienced supervisor or team leaderConfident managing and motivating a small teamFriendly, approachable and professionalHighly organised and able to prioritise effectivelyConfident dealing with customers, including resolving complaintsComfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environmentConfident working with children and familiesEnthusiastic and able to create a fun and welcoming atmosphereCalm under pressure and able to make decisionsReliable, responsible and able to use their own initiativeA strong team player with excellent communication skillsFlexible and willing to work weekends and during busy seasonal periodsComfortable wearing a seasonal costume and supervising team members who are wearing costumesPrevious experience within events, hospitality, retail, leisure, tourism or customer service would be advantageous.

Working Pattern

This is a seasonal position, with shifts available throughout the Halloween and Christmas event periods.

Weekend working is essential, particularly throughout the Christmas period.

Applicants must be available to work a combination of weekdays and weekends, depending on the event schedule and business requirements.

Working Environment

This is a hands-on supervisory role and may involve:

Working both indoors and outdoorsStanding for extended periodsWorking in busy and sometimes noisy environmentsSupervising event set-up and pack-downMoving light equipment and seasonal decorationsWorking weekends and during peak Christmas trading periodsWearing or supervising the use of seasonal costumes
