An exciting seasonal opportunity has arisen at our Lacock branch to join our friendly and inspirational team as a Part-Time Gifts Assistant.
At Whitehall Garden Centre, we pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service and creating an enjoyable shopping experience. We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable and motivated individuals who enjoy working with people and can thrive in a busy retail environment.
This role would suit someone looking for part-time work during evenings and weekends, helping our Gifts Department maintain its high standards during the busy seasonal period.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcoming customers and offering friendly, helpful assistance
- Responding to customer queries courteously and efficiently
- Identifying customer needs and providing appropriate advice
- Assisting customers in locating products throughout the garden centre
- Replenishing stock, putting out deliveries and ensuring products are correctly priced
- Maintaining high standards of merchandising, presentation and housekeeping in line with company guidelines
- Ensuring goods are packed professionally and carefully to prevent damage
- Keeping trolleys and baskets available for customers
- Following Whitehall’s Health and Safety guidelines
- Working cooperatively with colleagues and managers to ensure the smooth running of the department
- Helping to create a welcoming and enjoyable shopping experience for every customer
The Ideal Candidate
- Has a friendly and approachable manner with a passion for customer service
- Has good communication skills and a positive attitude
- Is reliable, hardworking and willing to learn
- Has good attention to detail and takes pride in their work
- Can work effectively as part of a team in a busy environment
- Is flexible and available to work evenings and weekends
- Previous retail experience would be an advantage, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally important
