To support ambitious growth plans, Armstrong Craven is looking to hire exceptional, commercially-minded, secondary research professionals. We are looking for enthusiastic, curious and committed individuals, who will enjoy the opportunity to gain exposure to the broad spectrum of work we undertake for our clients.

In this role you will assist in providing an extensive range of information in response to enquiries from both internal and external clients. The role involves researching industry sectors, companies, people and financial information using broad range of electronic sources covering; financial data, press reports, market research, social media and Armstrong Craven’s own databases. You will play a key role in searching and analysing these sources to create bespoke information solutions for our range of global, blue-chip clients and internal colleagues.

You may be a masters level graduate within information, library and knowledge management related subjects, or you may have practical experience within a related role in industry. Either way we’d be keen to talk to you.

You must be:

  • Sharp, with excellent judgement, problem solving and creative thinking skills Confident and have the ability to hold strategic conversations with colleagues and influence their thinking
  • Able to find and analyse a range of data types and apply these to solve complex business questions, maintaining accuracy with an eye for detail
  • Adaptable, able to handle a variety of projects concurrently, taking decisions to prioritise and effectively work to a budget and deadlines
  • Experienced in conducting in-depth talent mapping and market research using platforms like LinkedIn, Webbtree, and Google with advanced Boolean search techniques. Perform secondary research to identify talent pools, target companies, and top universities for specific skill areas and geographies.
  • Apply strong critical thinking to validate data sources, interpret complex queries, and deliver insights that answer non-obvious client questions.
  • Manipulate large datasets using Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas) and create weighted scoring models and matrix tables for talent evaluation.
  • Use Power BI/Tableau for data visualization and presentation of market insights, talent trends, and location intelligence.
  • Analyze macro trends (GDP, demographics, property prices, local wages, etc.) to support location studies and talent availability assessments.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of company structures, business functions, and industry landscapes to support executive-level research.
  • Produce insight-driven reports for internal stakeholders or clients, drawing from global databases, consulting-style sources, and library/industry reports.
