We are growing our team. Our focus is on the delivery of quality homes and building strong working relationships. We are seeking experienced Site Managers to join our team to oversee day-to-day operations on our residential housing sites in Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders.
Successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring that all construction activities are completed safely, built to the highest quality, on time and within budget. You will be expected to manage site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, liaise with external consultants and be an integral part of the Whiteburn team. You will be customer facing and an ambassador for Whiteburn.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver quality homes you are proud of and our clients love
- Plan and manage daily site activities in accordance with the programme and Health & Safety guidelines
- Supervise and manage all site activities
- Coordinate with the design team, local authorities as construction progresses
- Build strong working relationships with our supply chain team, warranty providers and local authorities
- Proactively manage site progress and report to senior management
- Maintain accurate site records including statutory documentation and inspections
- Ensure the highest quality standards are met and Whiteburnβs reporting procedures are maintained
- Be responsible for subcontract pre-start meetings, records and regular toolbox talks
- Implement and maintain Whiteburn Health & Safety policies in compliance with CDM Regulations 2015
- Ensure timely ordering and delivery of materials, control of stock of site and close working relationship with the commercial team
- Coordinate site logistics, including site access, deliveries, and waste management
- Manage regular project meetings with the sales team and Whiteburn management team
- Active engagement with our clients is a must β at client meetings, welcome meetings and handovers
- Proactively manage all client aftercare within our timescales
Key Skills & Attributes:
- A demonstrable leader with great communication skills
- Proven experience delivering residential housing
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
- Proficient in construction programming and sequencing
- Strong understanding of Scottish Building Regulations and domestic warrant process
- Ability to manage multiple trades and resolve site issues effectively
- Skilled in risk assessment and Health & Safety management
- Ambition and attention to detail is a must
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years in a site management role on housing developments
- Proven track record
- Excellent communication & negotiation skills
- High levels of organisational skills
- Ability to work on own initiative, ensure deadlines are met and problem solve
- Attention to detail and quality
- SMSTS (Site Safety qualifications)
- CSCS Black or Gold Card (Management Level)
- First Aid at Work certification
- Full UK driving licence
- Sound Commercial Awareness
