Our Strategy team plays a pivotal role in shaping the Firm’s long-term vision and ensuring sustainable growth and competitive advantage. The team conducts comprehensive market and financial analyses, evaluates the competitive landscape and formulates strategies, overseeing their execution from inception to completion. All decision-making is grounded in a robust fact base, ensuring informed and effective strategies. Collaborating closely with senior leadership, the Strategy team sets priorities, allocates resources efficiently and drives key initiatives. They continuously monitor industry trends, client needs and regulatory changes, proactively adapting the Firm’s strategies. By fostering innovation and a culture of continuous improvement, the Strategy team ensures that the Firm remains agile, forward-thinking and well positioned for future success.

As part of the Strategy team, you will help formulate and execute key strategic projects that are critical to delivering the Firm’s vision and strategy. Reporting to the Global Director of Strategy, you will support initiatives across the full strategy lifecycle, including formulation, execution and performance monitoring. You will work closely with the Executive Committee and functional leaders, providing data-driven insights to inform decisions at the most senior levels of the Firm and contributing to the development of other members of the Strategy team.

Duties and Accountabilities

As part of the Global Strategy team, you will work closely with internal stakeholders and external consultants. You will be expected to scope, lead and synthesize analyses to draw robust conclusions and develop insightful, actionable recommendations. To articulate your ideas, you will storyboard and design clear, compelling deliverables; produce high‑quality first drafts suitable for executive audiences; and build strong relationships with key stakeholders, helping to shape and guide their strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Legal ecosystem insights: Build a deep understanding of the evolving legal ecosystem and identify innovative ways to leverage it to create value for the Firm.
  • Market and competitive analysis: Define, analyze and synthesize trends in the legal market and competitive landscape, highlighting those with the greatest impact on the Firm’s vision and strategy.
  • Alternative delivery models: Develop a solid working knowledge of alternative legal service delivery models and the core digital technologies reshaping the legal market.
  • Issue and opportunity framing: Proactively identify strategic issues and opportunities, and frame them clearly, concisely and with a point of view.
  • Strategic roadmaps: Design detailed execution roadmaps and robust financial business cases to support major change and growth initiatives.
  • Analytical methods: Apply rigorous analytical methods to structure problems, perform quantitative and qualitative analyses and support well-founded recommendations.
  • Growth and implementation strategies: Develop and help implement strategies that drive profitable and sustainable growth.
  • Change management: Support change management and communication plans to drive adoption of strategic initiatives, including stakeholder engagement, training needs and feedback loops.
  • Business and financial modeling: Build and maintain business and financial models in Microsoft Excel and develop dashboards and reports in Power BI.
  • Independent and team leadership: Work independently with minimal supervision and lead project teams or workstreams within larger strategic initiatives.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate effectively with partners and business services teams across practices, regions and functions to co-create and deliver strategic initiatives.
  • Communication and deliverables: Communicate complex ideas clearly and succinctly, and produce high-quality deliverables using MS PowerPoint, Excel and (where relevant) Visio.
  • Mentoring: Coach, mentor and provide day-to-day guidance to junior team members, helping to develop their skills and performance.

  • Organization and detail: Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and follow-through to drive initiatives to completion.

Qualifications and skills

  • A four-year college degree plus a minimum of 6 years of full-time consulting or related experience.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Experience with other tools & systems such as SharePoint, PowerBI, Visio, Legora, Harvey and similar is an advantage.

Location

The role is based in London. Our standard office hours are 9:30-18:00, with a requirement for 4 days in the office per week (Monday - Thursday).
