As a Jersey Designer, you'll create distinctive, trend‑led collections that embody the White Stuff personality‑playful, unique, and full of thoughtful detail. You'll work closely with the Jersey Assistant Designer to bring seasonal concepts to life, ensuring your designs are innovative, commercially viable, and cohesive across the range. You will focus on all top categories for jersey; stretching our product offering, and jersey fabrication across casual and formal wear including sweats, rugby and pretty jersey tops. You will love print and have a keen eye for attention to detail, ensuring each design is thought about from the internals to externals. You will mentor and support the jersey assistant designer, ensuring they too are on the Jersey journey. Turning the dial for jersey newness and untapped opportunities. This is a hands‑on creative role, ideal for someone with a strong eye for design, technical expertise in jersey fabrics, and the ability to translate trends into exciting, customer‑focused product. It is a role where you will lead the jersey direction and be the brand guardian for this area across all end‑use categories to stretch Jersey t‑shirts, tops and sweats.
Responsibilities
- Deliver seasonal Jersey tops ranges from concept to final sample across authentic casual‑formal.
- Research trends, colours, fabrics, and silhouettes, translating insights into fresh, commercial designs.
- Work on end use ensuring we have the key season items.
- Create mood boards, colour palettes, and design sketches that align with seasonal direction.
- Produce accurate CADs and detailed tech packs using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Collaborate with Buying, Technical, and other Designers to ensure a cohesive product offer.
- Liaise with suppliers to develop jersey fabrics and samples, ensuring quality and design integrity.
- Attend fit sessions and review proto samples, making adjustments as needed.
- Assist in preparing seasonal presentations and range boards for internal and external meetings.
- Monitor sales and customer feedback to help refine future collections.
Qualifications
- Experience in fashion design with a focus on jersey apparel tops including authentic washes, interest print techniques and fabric mixing.
- Strong technical understanding of jersey fabric properties, construction, and garment finishing.
- Strong print eye.
- A portfolio showcasing creative yet commercially relevant jersey designs—plain and printed.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with strong CAD and technical drawing skills.
- Strong awareness of fashion trends, customer preferences, and market insights.
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
- Collaborative, adaptable, and able to work well in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent communication and strong storytelling presentation skills.
- A hands‑on, enthusiastic approach with a collaborative spirit.
