We are seeking an experienced and proactive Office Manager to join our engineering consultancy on a part-time basis (3 days per week). This will be a FTC Maternity Cover role. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a busy, people-focused environment and enjoys being at the heart of a successful professional practice.

Our office is very much the hub of the business, with a team of just over 100 employees regularly working from the office. We're looking for someone who can ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes while creating a welcoming, organised, and efficient workplace for our team and visitors. Please note the 3 days a week is a full time office position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day management and smooth running of the office.
  • Manage office suppliers, facilities, service contracts, and maintenance requirements.
  • Coordinate workplace operations to ensure a professional and well-maintained environment.
  • Support the planning and delivery of company events, including away days, team celebrations, and end-of-year functions.
  • Manage event logistics, supplier coordination, risk assessments, and operational planning.
  • Act as a key point of contact across the business, building strong relationships with colleagues and external providers.
  • Identify opportunities to improve office processes and workplace experience.
About You
  • Previous Office Manager experience within an engineering, architecture, or design environment ESSENTIAL.
  • Ideally experienced supporting a practice of around 100+ employees.
  • Strong organisational and project coordination skills.
  • Experience managing office facilities, contracts, and workplace operations.
  • Comfortable coordinating company events and handling associated logistics and compliance requirements.
  • A confident communicator who can influence and drive actions through positive relationships and a friendly, approachable style.
  • Someone who understands the pace and culture of design-led businesses and knows how to get things done with a friendly nudge.
