IMMEDIATE START FOR EITHER A QUALIFIED ARCHITECT OR SENIOR TECHNOLOGIST/TECHNICIAN - AUTOCAD BASED. Exclusive role available with an established and extremely busy family run architecture and surveying consultancy based in the Old Street/Shoreditch area of central London. Boasting a burgeoning pipeline of work, the Director is looking for an experienced individual to join his small team to oversee the architectural output of the business. Projects are predominantly residentially led and range from £50k through to approx. £2m in value. They also offer a hybrid working policy as standard.

Please see below a summary of the role requirements:

  • Ideal candidate would have experience working for a small practice, with a broad range of skills and experience, and used to acting as the main point of contact on projects.
  • Must have a full UK driving licence; owning a car is preferable but not essential.
  • Covering projects in the Essex and London areas.
  • Experience of all stages of residential projects including domestic loft conversions, extensions, and small (1-5 unit) new build housing/flat conversion projects.
  • Carrying out of measured surveys on existing properties/houses, and producing 'as existing' drawings.
  • Production of planning permission drawings and submission of planning applications.
  • Production of building regulations plans, technical designs, and submission of building control applications.
  • Liaising with structural engineers, and other specialist external consultants.
  • Dealing with new enquiries and drafting fee proposals.
  • Experience of carrying out site visits/inspections during the build phase.
  • Project management/contract administration experience preferred although not essential.
  • Party Wall Act experience preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent prospects of career progression; the business has been operating for many years and is currently growing.
  • AutoCAD literacy is essential for this role.
