Small in size but large in projects, this Interior Design Studio is looking for a Design Director. They have been established in the market for many years and are now looking for someone who is looking to make an impact on the UK market. They work with a number of high profile and well known clients in and around the UK.
Having worked within commercial office design you’ll be looking for the next stage of your career. Either in taking on a next step up or looking for a change in scenery and environment to join a growing team. You will have experience in working with clients but also looking to get involved in pitches and new business development. You’ll be as comfortable attending industry events as much as new client presentations. Managing a small team you’ll support the Director and be their guide in growing the business in all areas. Working with a lovely team of designers guiding and teaching the more junior members of the team to taking control of projects when required.
Having worked in either a large or small practice you’ll be looking to join and make a big difference whilst maintaining a great company who has a well respected and well known reputation.
The role will see you working alongside the team and undertake some of the following responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of design projects, from conceptualization to completion.
- Collaborate with clients to translate their vision into tangible designs, maintaining an open and engaging line of communication throughout the project.
- Develop comprehensive design plans utilizing tools like Revit, AutoCAD, InDesign, Illustrator, SketchUp, Photoshop, maintaining the highest level of precision and adherence to project requirements.
- Foster a collaborative environment with various project stakeholders including architects and contractors to ensure a seamless execution process.
- Mentor junior design team members, nurturing their growth and fostering an environment of learning and collaboration.
- Maintain stringent project management protocols to adhere to timelines, budgetary constraints, and quality standards.
- Cultivate relationships with suppliers and vendors, leveraging a deep understanding of the specific materials and finishes.
- Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, incorporating innovative concepts and approaches in every project undertaken.
- Create storyboards and initial design directions.
- Attend industry events and engage in and develop new business opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
- A minimum of 8-10 years of rich experience in the interior design sector, with a distinct focus on commercial office.
- Experience in high-end residential and developer work is advantageous.
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to present concepts clearly and engage effectively with clients and team members.
- Has a keen detailed eye for developing design concepts.
- Must have UK experience.
