We are delighted to be supporting a leading global, multidisciplinary consultancy in the search for a Senior Laboratory Consultant and a Laboratory Project Leader to join an established and growing specialist team working at the forefront of the life sciences and research sector. The team is renowned for delivering some of the world’s most complex and technically demanding research environments, partnering with architects, developers and institutions across laboratories, innovation districts and university research facilities.
Senior Laboratory Consultant
You will act as a job leader within the laboratory consulting discipline, contributing to design, analysis and technical consultancy across complex science-led projects. You’ll work closely with architects, engineers and clients, translating user needs into strategic, well-resolved design solutions.
Laboratory Project Leader
At a more senior level, you will lead laboratory consulting projects, overseeing project management, multidisciplinary coordination and client relationships. You’ll mentor junior team members, contribute to business development and play an active role in shaping the growth and direction of the life sciences offering.
Key Responsibilities (Across Both Roles)
- Leading or contributing to laboratory consulting projects from briefing through delivery
- Translating stakeholder and user requirements into strategic design decisions
- Working within single and multi-disciplinary teams alongside architects, consultants and contractors
- Producing and reviewing high-quality reports, presentations, Revit models and drawings
- Proposing and clearly articulating multiple design solutions, outlining benefits and trade-offs
- Presenting confidently to clients, collaborators and project stakeholders
- Managing project deadlines
- Supporting team wellbeing and contributing to a collaborative studio culture
- For Project Leaders: mentoring junior staff, supporting work-winning and strengthening client relationships
To Be Considered, You Should Demonstrate:
- Significant professional experience within the science, laboratory or related sectors
- Proven experience as a job leader or project leader on complex projects
- High-level Revit modelling capability
- Experience delivering complex projects including fit-out and building services
- Excellent verbal, written and graphic communication skills
- A genuine interest in the life sciences sector and a desire to specialise further
- Working knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign and Microsoft Office is advantageous
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, open and inclusive working environment
