We are working with an established architecture practice based in West London that focuses on urban renewal and regeneration architecture. They are looking to hire an experienced Bids & Business Development Manager to join their team. This role is critical in handling new business opportunities through high-quality bid submissions, market research, and strategic client engagement. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the architecture, construction, or built environment sector, with proven experience in bid coordination, tender submissions, and business development.

The Role

  • To lead the coordination, preparation, and submission of bids, tenders, and PQQs (Prequalification Questionnaires) for new business opportunities.
  • To work closely with directors and senior leadership to craft compelling, high-quality bid documents tailored to client and sector requirements.
  • To manage bid schedules, ensuring deadlines are met and submission documents align with brand and compliance standards.
  • To maintain and develop a bid library, including templates, case studies, CVs, and project sheets, to streamline future submissions.
  • To track and analyse bid success rates, providing insights for continuous improvement.
  • To support post-bid debriefs, gathering client feedback to refine and enhance future submissions.
  • To research and identify new business opportunities, including tracking industry trends, competitor activity, and upcoming tenders.
  • To support the development of business development strategies to expand the firm's reach in key markets.
  • To research and create a CRM system, tracking client relationships, project leads, and tender opportunities.
  • To assist in coordinating and attending industry events, networking sessions, and client meetings to strengthen relationships and generate leads.
  • To work closely with sector leads to develop targeted strategies for specific market segments.
  • To develop and maintain high-quality bid and business development materials, ensuring consistency in messaging and branding.
  • To support the creation of sector-specific presentations, capability statements, and brochures.
  • To collaborate with internal teams to align business development efforts with broader marketing strategies.
  • To ensure all external communications reflect the firm’s expertise, sector leadership, and project successes.

The Candidate

  • Proven experience in a similar business development role within architecture, construction, or a related industry.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to produce high-quality content under tight deadlines.
  • Become familiar with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress) and social media management tools.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to work closely with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working with Bids would also be ideal.
