Luxury high end hospitality studio in Central London are looking for an Associate level Interior Designer.
A really nice open plan centrally located London studio are looking for a new addition to their team. Having won a number of new projects they are looking for an Associate to join their friendly team. They are looking for someone with high level hospitality experience within hotel design, restaurant design or leisure projects. This role will be very much client facing with a strong emphasis on working with a team producing amazing cutting edge designs.
You'll be working in the UK and internationally, working with the wider office you'll have a small team to manage, run all the stages of design, client handling, FF&E and project management.
Some responsibilities for this role include the following:
- Act as the creative lead designer on hospitality projects across the studio overseeing output with the creative director from concept to completion
- Leading and inspiring the junior members of the team, problem-solving and mentoring
- Ensuring design output meets the brief and comes to life brilliantly and within budget
- Overseeing the creation of exciting concepts, developed design schemes, detailed technical design packs, specifications and tender documentation for sharing with clients and contractors (inputting your own design ideas)
- Doing hands-on concept and AutoCAD and hand-sketching, art directing CGIs, sourcing, procurement and putting together schemes and all other creative assets and project documentation relating to projects
- Leading site meetings and internal studio meetings with clients, suppliers and contractors, also mentoring others to do so.
- Managing project budgets, estimates and reconciliations
- Training other team members in creativity, project leadership and client handling
The ideal candidate will have the following skills/attributes:
- A really exciting design portfolio across hospitality design both highly creative and technically strong
- Experience working in a client-facing capacity at a senior level in established, stylish design agencies
- Strong understanding of project set-up, procedures, processes, programme, budgets and contractual arrangements
- Evidence of successful experience running large-scale, stylish projects, specifically Hospitality & F&B
- Strong construction and onsite knowledge and experience
- Inventive, stylish sourcing and specifying of products, lighting, furniture and decorative finishes (FF&E)
- Experience negotiating with suppliers to secure best price, terms and value for clients
- Proven experience working with fabricators and specialist suppliers and manufacturers to design and procure bespoke products and finishes
- Excellent organisation skills and proven ability working well under pressure
- Ability to prioritise and deliver projects within agreed budgets and timescales
- Excellent technical skills with a beady eye for detail
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (essential), same with InDesign, Photoshop, basic SketchUp and Microsoft Office/Excel
- Great communication skills.
