White and Sons is a multi-disciplinary estate agency and surveying company operating across South East England. Our successful planning team is now looking to appoint a Senior Planner to work alongside our existing Chartered Planners and our Commercial, Rural and Land and New Homes Teams as well as our Estate Agents. We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior Planner to join the growing planning team. This role offers the opportunity to work on and manage a diverse portfolio of projects, from small to strategic-sized schemes as well as business development. The role offers an excellent opportunity for career progression and experience within a long established and diverse company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage pre-application, planning applications and appeals processes across multiple projects, including management of external planning consultants and specialist advisors where required.
- Advising internal teams and clients on planning strategy, development opportunities and planning risks.
- Assess development opportunities and planning risks during site acquisition and feasibility stages.
- Monitor planning policy changes, local plans, and legislative updates relevant to the business portfolio.
- Represent the company at planning committees, public consultations, and stakeholder meetings.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, planning officers, consultants, and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to the overall growth strategy of the business through proactive planning insight and market awareness.

Key Skills & Experience:
- At least 5 years experience, ideally within consultancy or developer environment.
- Chartered membership with the RTPI, or currently seeking membership.
- Strong knowledge of existing and emerging UK planning legislation, policy and guidance.
- Demonstrable experience running projects through the planning process, including preparation and submission of applications and appeals.
- Experience of or ability to build strong client relationships, as well as planning officers, consultants and external stakeholders.
- Commercial awareness and strong project management skills.
- Strong report writing, with close attention to detail.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with clients, colleagues and other stakeholders.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car for business use.
