Role Overview
We are now seeking a Website Lead, who will own the front‑end technical direction and delivery of White Rose Education's public‑facing website and web‑based business systems. The postholder will lead the front‑end development team, define best practices, and ensure the delivery of high quality, performant, accessible, and scalable web experiences. They work closely with UX, Backend, Test and business stakeholders to shape the roadmap, prioritise delivery, and continuously improve the platform.

Key Responsibilities
- Line manage and mentor front‑end developers, including regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development support
- Set and maintain high engineering standards, acting as a role model within the team
- Support hiring and onboarding of new team members
- Foster a collaborative, high‑performing team culture
Technical Ownership
- Own the front‑end architecture and technical roadmap, aligning with business and product goals
- Lead the development of new features and enhancements across WRE's website and business systems
- Ensure consistent, scalable and maintainable front‑end architecture
- Drive reduction of technical debt through proactive improvements
Delivery & Collaboration
- Work closely with stakeholders to prioritise backlog and plan delivery
- Lead or actively contribute to agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand‑ups and retrospectives
- Collaborate with UX to deliver high‑quality user journeys from Figma designs
- Partner with backend teams to ensure effective API design and integration
Quality, Performance & Standards
- Ensure high standards in performance (e.g. Core Web Vitals), accessibility (WCAG) and security
- Define and improve testing strategies (unit, automated Cypress)
- Maintain and evolve component libraries and design systems
- Promote best practices in code quality, testing and documentation
