Transport Planner

Up to £45, per annum

Are you an experienced Transport Planner with a passion for strategic logistics and fleet optimisation? We are looking for a proactive and highly organised Transport Planner to join a reputable transport company in Dumbarton.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute nationwide transport plans, ensuring timely deliveries and optimal vehicle utilisation.

  • Use industry-specific transport planning software to plan routes, track performance, and improve efficiencies.

  • Oversee daily operations of fleet movements, ensuring compliance with service level agreements and delivery windows.

  • Manage fleet availability, maintenance schedules, and driver rotas to meet business demand.

  • Monitor and enforce legal compliance in line with tachograph regulations, drivers’ hours, and Working Time Directive.

  • Maintain accurate records for DVSA, FORS, and Operator Licence compliance.

  • Liaise with internal departments, customers, and drivers to communicate plans and respond to real-time challenges.

  • Monitor KPIs and implement strategies to reduce costs, fuel usage, and improve service quality.

  • Requirements:

  • Proven experience in transport planning

  • Strong understanding of UK road transport legislation, driver hours, and tachograph data compliance.

  • Hands-on experience with transport planning and fleet management systems.

  • Excellent geographical knowledge of the UK and ability to manage multi-drop and long-haul planning.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

  • CPC qualification (desirable but not essential).
