We are seeking an experienced and organised Traffic Operator to manage daily transport operations, ensuring efficient coordination of drivers, timely deliveries, and excellent communication with ports and customers. This role requires strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Salary: Up to £35,000 DOE

Working Hours: 4 on / 4 off NIGHTS shift pattern (including weekends as required)
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage and communicate with multiple drivers throughout the day
- Liaise with ports to coordinate collections and deliveries
- Book delivery slots for port entries and ensure compliance with schedules
- Use the TOPS transport system to accurately record driver start and finish times
- Monitor driver progress and chase ETAs to ensure on-time performance
- Reroute jobs as required in response to operational changes
- Ensure all PODs (Proof of Delivery) are correctly matched to jobs within the system
- Communicate proactively with customers regarding delays and provide updated ETAs
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all operational data is up to date
Skills & Experience Required:
- Previous experience as a Traffic Operator (essential)
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent UK geographical knowledge
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail
- Effective and quick problem-solving ability
- Flexible approach to meet the demands of the business
