The Role
As an Ocean Freight Operator, you'll be responsible for managing import and export shipments from start to finish, ensuring customers receive a seamless service throughout the shipping process.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing FCL and LCL ocean freight shipments from booking through to final delivery
- Liaising with shipping lines, overseas agents, hauliers and customers
- Preparing and checking shipping documentation
- Coordinating customs requirements and ensuring compliance
- Monitoring shipments and proactively communicating updates
- Handling quotations and maintaining excellent customer relationships
- Resolving any operational issues efficiently and professionally
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience within Ocean Freight Operations
- Knowledge of import and export procedures
- Strong understanding of freight forwarding documentation
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with customs processes would be advantageous
