A long-established precision engineering company is looking for an experienced CNC Turning Programmer & Setter to join its skilled manufacturing team on a permanent basis. The company has over 20 years’ experience supplying high-quality components and assemblies across sectors including science and medical, oil and gas, automotive and other precision-led industries.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC lathes, with Fanuc controls being essential. This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, working from engineering drawings and supporting production to ensure high-quality output. This role would suit someone confident, proactive and experienced, who enjoys problem-solving, working independently and contributing to a small, highly skilled team.
Key Responsibilities
- Programme, set and operate CNC turning machines
- Work confidently with Fanuc-controlled CNC lathes
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Produce precision components to required specifications
- Carry out checks to ensure quality and accuracy
- Identify and resolve production or machining issues
- Work independently while contributing to the wider team
Requirements
- Strong experience setting and operating CNC turning machines
- Experience with Fanuc controls is essential
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Solid background in manufacturing or precision engineering
- Practical problem-solving skills
- Hands-on and proactive approach
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Strong team spirit and positive attitude
- GCSEs or equivalent preferred but not essential
