My client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Transfer Station Manager to manage all aspects of site operations at their facility in Southampton. This is an exciting role offering responsibility, autonomy, and the chance to make a real impact in a growing business.
Working Hours: Full Time: Monday – Friday (8am – 5pm) – 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Transfer Station, ensuring full compliance with environmental permits, health & safety regulations, and all statutory requirements.
- Oversee waste reception, storage, segregation, and onward transportation in line with company and legislative standards.
- Lead, motivate, and manage the site team to deliver operational efficiency, maintain quality standards, and achieve KPIs.
- Take responsibility for site budgets, cost control, and financial performance, including full P&L accountability.
- Implement and maintain robust systems for reporting, auditing, and operational improvements.
- Liaise with internal teams, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth and compliant operations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in Waste Management or Environmental Services (Transfer Station operations essential).
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and ensuring compliance with H&S and environmental regulations.
- In-depth understanding of permit requirements, waste handling processes, and duty of care obligations.
- IOSH or NEBOSH qualification desirable.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills with a proactive, problem-solving approach.
