We are looking for a Lead Waste Chemist to join our team based in Southampton.

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum

Location: Southampton, UK

Working Hours: Monday to Friday – 7:00am - 4:00pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with site permits and waste acceptance regulations.
  • Oversee safe operation of the site and waste handling.
  • Monitor quality and compliance, and submit non-conformance reports and invoices on time.
  • Ensure all waste that is processed/repacked has an associated paperwork trail so they can be traced from cradle to grave.
  • Supervision and support for the Site and Mobile Chemist team.
  • Support and have responsibility over P&L on site.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field.
  • Previous experience as a Site Chemist, Lab Analyst, Mobile Chemist, or similar.
  • Experience in the Hazardous Waste Management industry.
  • Leadership experience is essential.
  • Forklift Licence desirable, but not essential (Training Provided).
