An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Freight Forwarder (Ocean / Project Cargo / OOG) to join a growing and dynamic specialist freight business based in the Southampton area. The successful candidate will provide export freight solutions to global destinations, including complex and non-standard routes, working closely with major 3PL vessel operators to move primarily out-of-gauge (OOG), breakbulk, and project cargo. Working Hours
- Full time - Monday to Friday
- Hybrid working: 1 day per week from home after probation

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage Sea Freight operations, utilising 3PL vessels and major shipping lines
- Handle freight movements to global destinations, including specialist, oversized, and complex cargo
- Manage end-to-end shipments involving OOG, breakbulk, and project cargo
- Support Air and Road shipments when required, offering a fully multimodal service
- Deliver high levels of customer service while building and maintaining strong commercial relationships
- Manage bookings, documentation, quotations, and operational queries efficiently and accurately
- Liaise confidently with carriers, agents, and clients to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations
Requirements
- Essential: Hands-on experience with OOG, breakbulk, or project cargo shipments
- Experience within marine, yacht, heavy-lift, or specialist freight sectors highly desirable
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Freight Forwarding (Sea Freight background preferred)
- Experience handling complex logistics operations and non-standard shipments
- Knowledge of vessel bookings, port operations, and cargo handling procedures
- Strong commercial awareness, including quoting, cost control, and client management
- Experience working with or booking onto major shipping lines is desirable
- Experience with Cargowise highly desirable
