An established freight and logistics business is looking to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager to join its successful sales team in Selby. The successful candidate will sell a range of international air, road and sea freight services, alongside UK warehousing and distribution solutions.
The Role
- Developing new business through proactive sales activity, including cold calling, prospecting and face-to-face customer meetings.
- Identifying and securing new business opportunities.
- Proactively contacting prospective customers through cold calling and targeted sales activity.
- Arranging and attending face-to-face customer meetings.
- Managing and developing relationships with new and existing clients.
- Understanding customer requirements and recommending suitable freight and logistics solutions.
- Negotiating with air, road and sea freight suppliers to secure competitive rates.
- Preparing and submitting accurate customer quotations.
- Following up quotations and securing trial bookings.
