In this role you will manage the commercial performance of electrical and M&E projects for a growing contractor, ensuring cost control and robust financial processes. You’ll work closely with project teams and senior commercial staff to handle valuations, variations, and final accounts, while supporting procurement and risk management. The position offers ownership of project finances and a clear path to more senior commercial roles as the company expands. You will engage with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors on technically interesting M&E work.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the commercial performance of electrical and M&E projects
  • Prepare valuations and applications for payment
  • Manage variations and change control
  • Review subcontractor quotations and payment applications
  • Support procurement and subcontractor appointments
  • Monitor project costs, budgets and margins
  • Produce cost reports and forecasts
  • Assist with contract administration and commercial risk
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers and subcontractors
  • Support final accounts and project close-out

Key requirements

  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction or building services
  • Ideally from an electrical, M&E or specialist subcontractor
  • Strong commercial and numerical skills
  • Good knowledge of valuations, variations and subcontract accounts
  • Confident dealing with clients and project teams
  • Strong Excel and general IT skills
  • Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management qualification preferred
