North East England & Scotland (Field Based)

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 Basic + Bonus + Company Car/Car Allowance + Pension + Private Healthcare + 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays

An established manufacturer of automated packaging machinery is looking to recruit an experienced Area Sales Manager to drive new business and manage key accounts across the North East and Scotland.

This is a consultative, solution‑led sales role selling high‑value capital equipment into food & beverage, FMCG, pharmaceutical, industrial and manufacturing customers.

The Role

  • Manage an established territory across North East England and Scotland.
  • Develop new business whilst growing existing key accounts.
  • Sell a range of automated packaging machinery and complete packaging line solutions.
  • Conduct site surveys, customer demonstrations and technical presentations.
  • Work closely with engineering and project teams to deliver bespoke solutions.
  • Manage quotations, negotiations and capital equipment sales through to order.

The Candidate

  • Previous experience selling packaging machinery is essential.
  • Experience with automated capital equipment such as filling, wrapping, labelling, palletising, case packing, cartoning, flow wrapping or end‑of‑line packaging machinery.
  • Proven track record of winning new business and achieving sales targets.
  • Comfortable selling six‑figure capital equipment projects.
  • Strong commercial and technical sales ability.
  • Full UK driving licence.
