A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a well-established and growing freight forwarding business.

Our client is seeking a commercially driven sales professional with experience selling air and sea freight services. This is a fully remote role offering complete autonomy to develop your territory, with the support of an established operations team across Bradford and Manchester branches.

The successful candidate will focus on securing new business across air and ocean freight, generating import opportunities that will be serviced by the client’s dedicated Manchester import team.

What’s on Offer

  • Salary up to 55,000, depending on experience.
  • Fully remote with complete autonomy to manage your diary and sales activity.
  • Attractive uncapped commission structure:
    • 10% of GP in Year 1
    • 15% of GP in Year 2
    • 3% of GP in Year 3
  • Long-term career prospects with a successful and expanding freight forwarding business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and win new business across air and sea freight.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective customers.
  • Identify opportunities to generate profitable import business.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through to closing deals.
  • Develop long-term relationships with customers and key decision-makers.
  • Work closely with the Manchester import operations team to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Represent the business professionally at customer meetings and networking events.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven business development experience within freight forwarding.
  • Strong background selling air freight and ocean freight solutions.
  • Demonstrable track record of winning new business.
  • Commercially minded with excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently.
  • Full UK driving licence and willing to travel to customer meetings as required.
  • Must be based within a reasonable commuting distance of Bradford and Manchester.
