Our client, a very successful Freight Forwarding company, is looking for a Road Freight Coordinator to join their driven team and help develop their growing European Road freight offering.
Main Purpose: To provide additional operational assistance to the European Road Freight team, allowing further development of the company’s freight offering with existing and new customers.
Full time: Monday to Friday – 08:30am – 17:30pm
Salary: Up to £30
Key Responsibilities:
- Look after all the customers who book full and part load, import and export shipments to Western, Eastern Europe and Worldwide.
- Build up and nurture good working relationships with existing and new customers.
- Increase business from existing, lapsed and recently gained clients.
- Offer customers excellent customer service to encourage repeat and new business.
- Generate sales/profit linked directly to the current business plan.
- Focus and drive to achieve targets, budgets and results.
- Take phone/e-mail enquiries from customers.
- Use freight exchanges.
- Quote customers on the phone and call them back ASAP with quotes to secure bookings.
- Identify new sales opportunities for existing customers and effectively present key features of services to secure new business.
- Log quotes on the Quote Tracker.
- Administer the whole booking process, entering bookings onto the bespoke operations system and tracking loads from booking to delivery.
- Cover loads with hauliers, checking on them on the day of loading and dealing with any problems.
- Proactively liaise with customers.
Requirements:
- Experience working for a UK based freight forwarder.
- Knowledge in EU Road freight.
- Right to work in the UK – No sponsorship is on offer.
