The Role

We are seeking a Compliance Manager to join a high‑performing Recycling & Waste Management function.

This is a dynamic, multi‑site role where you will play a critical part in ensuring operations consistently meet environmental, regulatory, and technical standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compliance & Technical Oversight
  • Assess recycling and waste activities against relevant legislation and environmental standards
  • Verify material compliance and suitability against technical specifications
  • Review waste acceptance data to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Support evidence generation for End‑of‑Waste status
  • Audits, Inspections & Sampling
  • Lead audits across operational sites, suppliers, and third parties
  • Identify non‑conformances and support corrective action tracking
  • Carry out inspections, sampling, and coordinate testing activities
  • Maintain audit schedules and compliance records
  • Documentation & Data Management
  • Manage compliance‑critical documentation, including test certificates and records
  • Support technical submissions and compliance evidence packs
  • Collate and validate data for reporting and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor KPIs such as waste flows and landfill diversion
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Work cross‑functionally with operational, technical, and environmental teams
  • Provide clear, actionable feedback following audits and inspections
  • Contribute to site meetings and continuous improvement initiatives

About You

  • Experience in environmental compliance, waste management, or regulatory roles
  • Strong understanding of environmental legislation and waste protocols
  • Proven experience in auditing, inspections, or sampling
  • Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Confident communicator with strong report‑writing skills
  • Highly organised with strong documentation control discipline
  • Comfortable working independently across multiple locations
  • Full UK driving licence
