Location: Leeds/Field Based
Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Machine Tool Service Engineer to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of CNC and conventional machine tools across our customer base. This is a field-based role requiring a proactive individual who can work independently while delivering a high standard of technical support and customer service. The successful candidate will play a key role in minimising downtime, ensuring equipment performance, and maintaining strong client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and test new machine tools at customer sites
- Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical, electrical, and control system repairs
- Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers on machine operation
- Complete detailed service reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure efficient service delivery
- Always adhere to health and safety standards
Skills & Experience
- Strong fault-finding ability across mechanical and electrical systems
- Knowledge of CNC control systems (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Good communication and customer-facing skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Proven experience servicing CNC or conventional machine tools
- Previous field service experience is highly desirable
- Experience with PLC systems or programming is advantageous
- Full UK driving licence required
- Willingness to travel and stay overnight when necessary
