Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30-17:00

We are currently supporting the search for an experienced Multimodal Freight Operator to join a well-established and growing freight forwarding business. This is an excellent opportunity for an operations-focused freight professional to join a dynamic team delivering end-to-end logistics solutions across sea freight and European road movements.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multimodal shipments across sea freight and European road freight, ensuring smooth operational delivery from origin to destination. This is a hands-on operational position requiring strong attention to detail, excellent organisational ability, and a proactive, solutions-driven mindset. You will work closely with internal teams, carriers, overseas agents, and customers to ensure shipments are processed efficiently, compliantly, and in line with service expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end multimodal freight operations (primarily sea freight and European road)
  • Coordinate import and export shipments from booking through to final delivery
  • Liaise with shipping lines, hauliers, overseas agents, and customers
  • Prepare and process customs documentation, including CDS import/export entries
  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations and internal procedures
  • Provide proactive updates and resolve operational issues as they arise
  • Deliver a high level of customer service and operational accuracy
  • Support the wider operations team with daily freight forwarding activity

Required Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience within multimodal freight forwarding, ideally sea freight and European road focused
  • Working knowledge of CDS import and export procedures
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously
  • Detail-focused with a strong problem-solving mindset
  • Confident communicator with good stakeholder management skills
  • Exposure to air freight operations
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced freight forwarding environment
