Freight Forwarding Operations Manager

b Overview /b p In this role you will lead a multimodal freight operation to drive service quality, profitability and account growth within a growing international logistics group. You will oversee air, road and ocean activities, mentor the operations team and maintain strong client relationships. This role combines hands-on operations with strategic commercial influence, reporting to the Director. It offers ownership of performance improvements and a clear pathway to shape the next phase of the business. /p b Pay / Benefits /b ul li Company car /li li Private healthcare /li li Contributory pension /li li Modern office environment /li /ul b Responsibilities /b ul li Lead day-to-day operations across air, road and ocean freight to ensure reliable service and solid commercial results /li li Manage, motivate and appraise the operations team /li li Own departmental profit and loss /li li Prepare RFQs, quotations and tender submissions /li li Develop key customer accounts and identify growth opportunities /li li Negotiate with suppliers for competitive rates and service /li li Attend customer and supplier meetings /li li Resolve operational issues and maintain service standards /li li Identify process, productivity and profitability improvements /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Multimodal freight forwarding experience, preferably with an export bias /li li Previous management experience within freight forwarding /li li Strong hands-on operational knowledge /li li Experience managing profit and loss /li li Confidence handling RFQs and tender submissions /li li Proven customer relationship and key account management skills /li li Strong supplier negotiation skills /li li Ability to develop a team and lead by example /li li Calm, commercially minded approach and clear communication skills /li /ul ul li leadership /li li communication /li li commercial mindset /li li multimodal freight forwarding /li li RFQs and tender submissions /li li supplier negotiation /li /ul
