We are recruiting for our client, an international multi modal freight forwarder that provides start to finish operations, including break bulk and project services. The company has been running for 25 years and is looking to expand their Road Freight team.
We are seeking a European Road Freight Operator to join their expanding team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating and overseeing road freight operations throughout Europe.
Your key responsibilities as a Road Freight Forwarder:
- Organise and coordinate end to end European road freight operations
- Customer centric operations
- Manage daily operations of the road freight division, including driver communication, monitoring shipments, and handling any issues that arise during transit.
- Provide freight rates, quotes and pricing solutions for customers
- Deliver exceptional customer service
- Track and update delivery statuses in the company's system and provide regular updates to clients
- Resolving any issues or delays that may arise
- Job invoicing and costing
- Making sure the department stays up to date with regulations, ensuring compliance with all documentation
- Customs declarations / clearances
Requirements:
- Proven experience in Road Freight operations
- A strong understanding of transportation and operation regulations
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- The ability to problem solve and work effectively in a fast-paced environment and working to tight deadlines
- Proficiency in relevant software for transportation management.
- Groupage experience is an advantage
