Fine Art Technician – Feltham – Up to Β£40,000

Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fine Art Technician to join their art logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe handling, packing, transportation, installation, and storage of artworks.

This role requires a high level of professionalism, technical ability, discretion, and a strong commitment to best practices in art handling and logistics.

Office location: Feltham, UK

Hours: Monday to Friday – 08:00 til 17:00

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle, pack, and transport a wide range of artworks, including paintings, sculptures, installations, and delicate objects.
  • Assist with and carry out on-site art installations and de-installations at galleries, museums, private residences, and art fairs.
  • Safely load and unload artworks from vehicles using appropriate handling, lifting, and securing techniques.
  • Conduct condition checks and accurately report any discrepancies or damage.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation, including condition reports, packing lists, and inventory logs.
  • Liaise professionally with clients, conservators, registrars, and couriers throughout projects.
  • Ensure all tools, vehicles, and equipment are maintained in good working condition.
  • Support warehouse operations, including artwork intake, inventory management, and storage.
  • Travel domestically and occasionally internationally as required for installations and exhibition setups.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Proven experience within a fine art handling, logistics, or museum/gallery environment.
  • Commutable distance from the office
  • Strong knowledge of best practices in art packing, handling, and installation.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible approach to working hours and willingness to travel as required.
