It would suit someone who enjoys understanding what sits behind the numbers and working with colleagues to improve results.What’s on offerSalary of 60,000 per yearMonday-to-Friday workingA choice of 8:00am-4:00pm or 9:00am-5:00pm hoursDirect reporting line to the Finance DirectorExposure to senior management and multiple business functionsA varied role covering analysis, business partnering, forecasting and commercial decision-makingOpportunity to influence profitability, processes and operational performanceThe roleYou’ll provide the analysis, forecasting and financial guidance that help managers understand performance, recognise risks and make informed decisions.Your responsibilities will include:Analysing actual results against budgets, forecasts and prior-year performanceExplaining sales and margin movements and recommending actionsSupporting budgeting and forecasting, including challenging commercial assumptionsPartnering with operations, sales and site managers to improve financial understandingBuilding financial models and testing scenarios for new business opportunitiesReviewing commercial proposals and supporting bids and tendersIdentifying opportunities to reduce costs and improve marginsDeveloping KPI reporting and presenting insights to senior managementMonitoring commercial risks, opportunities and capital expenditureImproving reporting and financial control processesWorking with shared service finance teams to ensure accurate, timely informationAbout youExperience in commercial finance, financial analysis, management accounting or finance business partneringIdeally studying towards, or newly qualified in, CIMA or ACCAStrong Excel skills and a sound understanding of accountingConfidence explaining financial information to non-finance colleaguesCommercial awareness and the ability to challenge constructivelyStrong organisation and the ability to manage competing prioritiesA hands-on approach to problem-solving and process improvementWillingness to travel between sites and a full, clean driving licenceExperience within logistics or another multisite business would be beneficial, although relevant experience from other industries will be considered.
